Thanksgivukkah 2013

It’s hard to ignore the Thanksgivukkah frenzy created by the convergence of the holidays of Hanukkah and Thanksgiving – a once in a lifetime occurrence. So I have joined in on the fun and put together a Thanksgivukkah menu, highlighting traditions from both holidays, Real Food Kosher style.

What do I mean by real food? A collection of recipes that do not have refined flour, white sugar, vegetable oils, vegetable shortening, or margarine. You will find recipes using wholesome ingredients without compromising flavor.

Here is my menu for a Thanksgiving/Hanukkah dinner. What will you be making this holiday?

Thanksgivukkah Menu 2013

Leftover Ideas

Leftover Sandwich

Taking this idea from Stupid Easy Paleo: use leftover sweet potato latkes to make sandwiches with leftover turkey and cranberry sauce.

Make sure to save those turkey bones and make a nutritious and flavorful Leftover Turkey Soup.

Too much cranberry sauce leftover? Make Cranberry Crumb Bars – one of my most popular recipes. Actually go ahead and make a double batch of cranberry sauce so you’ll have an excuse to make these bars.
